AC-262, more fully AC-262536 and sometimes sold as accadrine, is a nonsteroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that acts as a partial agonist of the androgen receptor. It is a small molecule, not a peptide. This listing is a bottle of hard gelatin capsules, each holding 10 mg of AC-262536 blended with microcrystalline cellulose. Its published record is short: a 2008 pharmacological characterisation in cells and castrated rats is the only primary study among the references here.
What is in each capsule
Each capsule is filled with 10 mg of AC-262536, about 2.5% of the capsule contents by weight according to the safety data sheet, the remainder being microcrystalline cellulose inside a gelatin shell. The sheet identifies the compound by CAS number 870888-46-3 and the formula C18H18N2O, and classifies it as suspected of damaging fertility or the unborn child (H361); the filler and shell are not classified. It asks for the bottle to be stored locked up. Keep it tightly closed in the original container at 15 to 25 °C, away from moisture and light.
What the research covers
The 2008 characterisation
Piu and colleagues found AC-262536 with a functional cell-based assay and described it as a potent, selective androgen receptor ligand with partial agonist activity relative to testosterone1. In a two-week study in castrated male rats it significantly improved anabolic measures, most clearly by stimulating growth of the levator ani muscle, and it suppressed the elevated LH levels seen in those animals1. Its androgenic effects, measured by prostate and seminal vesicle weight, were weak compared with those of testosterone1. The authors presented it as a new class of SARM1.
Partial agonism and the SARM idea
The goal of SARM programmes in that decade was a compound acting as a full agonist in muscle and bone and only a partial agonist in the prostate2. Reviews described the class as binding the androgen receptor with myo- and osteo-anabolic activity but less growth effect on the prostate and other secondary sexual organs than testosterone and other anabolic steroids3. AC-262536 reached its selectivity as a partial agonist, with a lower maximum response at the receptor than testosterone1. The LH result shows something different: suppressing LH means the compound also acts at the pituitary and hypothalamus, which selectivity between muscle and prostate does not address.

Frequently asked questions
Are AC-262, AC-262536 and accadrine the same compound?
Yes. AC-262536 is the research code, AC-262 is a shortening of it, and accadrine is a seller's name that does not appear in the 2008 paper. The safety data sheet identifies the compound by CAS number 870888-46-3 and the formula C18H18N2O.
What does partial agonist mean here?
That AC-262536 activates the androgen receptor but gives a smaller maximal response than testosterone in a cell-based assay. In castrated rats that went with clear effects on the levator ani muscle and weak effects on the prostate and seminal vesicles.
What does the safety data sheet ask for?
Storage locked up, tightly closed in the original container at 15 to 25 °C, dry and away from light. It classifies AC-262536 as suspected of damaging fertility or the unborn child, and it covers handling, first aid and disposal for the capsules.
